About the Program
El Monte is launching the Clean Mobility Nexus Program, a bold new approach to mobility. This initiative introduces affordable, fast services such as electric carshare, electric shuttles, and e-bikes, providing El Monte residents with practical access and flexibility for travel.
In addition, to help get everyone moving, the program is supporting a variety of events for El Monte residents and neighbors, including "learn to bike" classes, skill-building bike rodeos, community rides, and hands-on demos for both e-bikes and electric carsharing.
What’s Coming
Electric Buses: Four zero-emission buses will add new Express and Market Shuttle routes connecting key destinations.
EV Carsharing: Twenty shared electric vehicles will provide residents with affordable access to a vehicle when needed.
Charging Stations: Fourteen new public chargers in the city will make it easy to power up locally.
E-Bike Library: In partnership with ActiveSGV, residents can borrow e-bikes at little to no cost for everyday trips.

Bike Rodeo and Skills Course for Young Riders

Join us for a fun and active bike skills course designed for young riders. Participants will rotate through stations that teach turning, signaling, scanning, braking, and safe riding. This is an excellent way for families to help new riders build confidence. Bikes and helmets are available to borrow.
Electric Bike Demo and E-Bike Membership Giveaway

Come check out the latest in electric family and cargo bikes at our free hands-on demo! Test ride e-bikes, see how they work, and if you're an El Monte resident, enter our membership giveaway for a chance to take one home. Bikes are valued at over $800 and require a refundable deposit.
Hello, Spring! Beginner-Friendly Community Bike Ride

Join us for a fun 4-mile cruise through El Monte starting at the Jeff Seymour Family Center! Ride your own bike or hop on a free GoSGV e-bike, enjoy the local bike paths, and take part in a scavenger hunt along the way. Pre-registration is required for all participants. A valid ID is needed to borrow an e-bike and will be held for the duration of the ride.
